Dato' Dr. Amar Singh HSS

Consultant Paediatrician & Child Disability Advocate

Dato' Dr. Amar Singh HSS is a highly respected Consultant Community Paediatrician and a passionate advocate for children with disabilities. With over 35 years of service in Malaysia's healthcare system, he has contributed significantly to paediatric and disability services, including developing national systems for perinatal mortality reporting and childhood immunization. He holds an MBBS from the University of Malaya, an MSc in Community Paediatrics (with distinction) from the University of London, and several prestigious awards, such as the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award and the SENIA Advocacy Award.

Dr. Amar has been instrumental in revising Malaysia's child health programs, introducing routine developmental screening, and supporting underprivileged children, particularly Indigenous communities. He has served in key advisory roles, including at the National Early Childhood Intervention Council and Quest International University. He is a long-standing contributor to NGOs supporting children with disabilities.
