Loo Jianwen

Loo Jianwen was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5. He holds a BSc in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle. Over the years, Jianwen has gained diverse work experience in the fast-food, FMCG, and hotel industries, including an 6-year tenure at DoubleTree by Hilton Penang. He recently relocated to Kuala Lumpur to start a new position at Sofitel Damansara, KL with the support of EmployAble.
Jianwen is deeply passionate about advocating for the Special Needs community. He actively participates in self-advocacy conferences and is a member of the Mutiara Voice Club in Penang. He was a member of Achievers Toastmasters Club, Penang from 2014-2018.
Besides English his language skills includes: Bahasa Malaysia, Japanese and Mandarin. Additionally, he has competed in swimming events at the Malaysian Paralympic Games. In his free time, Jianwen enjoys Aikido, reading novels, and watching anime, current events and documentaries, and listening to music.
Recently, he published a book of poems that reflect his thoughts, views, and unique perspective on the world.
